Design & Build Project: Lei King Wan

The design proposal for the residential project at Lei King Wan in Sai Wan Ho aims to create a living space that harmoniously blends aesthetics and functionality, incorporating natural elements with modern design techniques to provide a comfortable retreat within the urban environment. The designer has taken into account the client's desire for a unique taste in their home while ensuring excellent functionality, emphasizing openness and natural light throughout the space. The client seeks to effectively plan various functional areas within the limited space, integrating natural elements to enhance the livability of the environment.

 

In terms of spatial design, the separation between the living room and dining area has been removed to create an open public space. The dining area features a marble dining table paired with minimalist chairs, elevating the overall quality of the space. A green plant is placed at the center of the table to introduce a touch of nature. The living room's accent wall is adorned with leaf-patterned wallpaper that complements the greenery in the dining area. The arrangement of the sofa and coffee table has been thoughtfully designed to facilitate smooth movement, making it convenient for family interactions and guest visits.

 

For lighting design, a combination of primary and auxiliary lighting has been employed. A uniquely shaped circular pendant light hangs from the ceiling as the main source of illumination, while table lamps and wall sconces are strategically placed near the sofa and bookshelves to meet diverse lighting needs and create a cozy atmosphere.

 

In terms of storage solutions, built-in bookshelves and cabinets have been integrated into the walls, effectively saving space while providing ample storage for various items. A small storage nook has also been designed in one corner of the living room for daily miscellaneous items, helping to maintain an organized environment.

 

The overall color scheme features white and beige as dominant tones, creating a bright and spacious feel. This is complemented by green natural elements and deep brown furniture, adding depth and richness to the color palette.

 

Through these design elements and planning strategies, this proposal strives to deliver a well-functioning, aesthetically pleasing, and comfortable living environment that meets all of the client's needs in urban life.
